Residential Buildings
Noise is often a concern for Residential Developments particularly in urban and sub-urban areas. The Local Planning Authority can often place per-commencement conditions relating to noise on a residential planning application. The following areas relating to noise for a residential development are often considered:
- Noise and Vibration from Construction Works
- Noise created by the residential development
- Existing noise levels affecting future habitants of the residential development
- Noise impact caused by plant and equipment associated with the development
Aran Acoustics can carry out a comprehensive noise survey and assessment for proposed residential developments to ensure all Local Planning Authority criteria are satisfactorily met.
All residential development must comply with Approved Document E of the Building Regulations. Approved Document E sets out the acoustic design criteria for residential buildings. Aran Acoustics provide construction design advice to achieve compliance with Approved Document E of the Building Regulations.
It is the responsibility of the developer to show that the residential development achieves compliance with Approved Document E of the Building Regulations. Aran Acoustics can carry out pre-completion sound insulation testing to show that the development achieves compliance with Approved Document E.
